SJ Forbes Salon in Egham Wins 2018 Team of the Year Award

The team at SJ Forbes Hair Salon in Egham are thrilled after winning the prestigious Salon Business Awards 2018 title of Team Of The Year.

After accepting their award at the finals held in London’s world-famous Mondrian Hotel, salon owner Hayley Gibson-Forbes said: “This is the one for me! If you have happy staff you have happy clients, but when, as a team, you make each other happy and feel supported and accepted for being you, that is priceless. Our team push us to be better every day.”

Salon owner Sean Mcelhill added: “It was an unreal feeling to be called up, especially by one of my hairdressing icons Errol Douglas. Not only to be standing there with my wife but with my family/team was a dream.  We work so hard to arrange things for us as a team to do and also keep a work balance, but we don’t have to work too hard when it comes to chemistry. Our team rocks and they make me proud.”

The competition judges – all respected members of the hair & fashion world – noted SJ Forbes’ passion for training and developing each member of their team.  They also learned about the clear lines of communication between colleagues, the strong bonds that they have, as well as great team spirit, trust and friendship.  With a passion for what they do oozing from each individual, this has helped SJ Forbes to grow and succeed.

The team also take time out of their busy schedules each month and give back to the local community via the SJ Forbes Community Challenge.  They have donated blood, held fundraising events, given charity haircuts, and given their time and raffle and auction prizes to support the local community.

Team activities have resulted in the salon being alive with laughter and chatter, and performance is at an all-time high, with full columns and a motivated workforce.

Client retention is also exceptional with an overall five star rating on Facebook and more than 140 five star reviews.

SJ Forbes Hair salon in Egham is on a winning streak after also being named finalists in the Creative Head’s Most Wanted Best Salon Team category and finalists in the HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards 2018 Salon Team of the Year.
